August 29: Native Plant Night-The Prairie at Cascade Meadow

Tour and presentation by Saint Mary’s University Summer Interns

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota student interns have spent past summers studying the prairie at Cascade Meadow. These interns, under the guidance of Saint Mary’s staff, have worked to control invasive plant species (including wild parsnip and sweet clover) in wetland prairie restorations, established and sampled vegetation plots, collected aquatic data from the lake, and helped to document 140 plant species on the site. Join Saint Mary’s interns and staff to share in lessons learned from Cascade Meadow and how it relates to your own native plant garden.
